Aims and Ethos

Our Aims at St. Thomas

We want children to be happy and healthy and learn in a caring environment, where we encourage each child to develop academically, creatively, physically, socially, emotionally and spiritually to their fullest potential.

We aim to foster Christian beliefs and values within our children so that they will be caring, responsible and committed members of the school and the wider community.

We will help our children acquire knowledge, skills, and attitude that will be relevant to them in future life, enabling them to become versatile learners.

We aim to enhance each child’s self-esteem and feeling of self-worth so that he/she will grow in confidence.

We aim to strengthen close links between the school, home, Church and the community.

We aim to recognise and embrace diversity in all its forms and be inclusive, knowing that we all make valuable contributions to school and society.

We know that Every Child  Matters and strive to achieve all five outcomes for every child:
Be safe
Be healthy
Enjoy and achieve
Make a positive contribution
Achieve economic understanding
