a spectrum of drama activities throughout their life at St Thomas as well as
having the opportunity to be part of the choir or play a musical instrument –
be it as part of one of our bands or just for individual pleasure.
curriculum extends beyond the classroom not least because of our extensive

covered seating area, a chess board, trim trails, vegetable plots and large
field, all within our secure school boundary.
To make the most of our facilities we run various extracurricular clubs
and a programme called ‘Learning for Life’ – an opportunity for all children to
learn new skills outside of the usual classroom context.
closely with Bolton Schools Music Service as well as independent music teachers
who help us to offer musical instrument lessons in the form of the guitar,
violin, cello, keyboard, clarinet, saxophone and drums. Each year we hold a
music concert to showcase our children’s achievements.

active role in inter schools sports competitions within our cluster of Westhoughton

compliment the work done in school.
We endeavour to make our curriculum unique,
matched to the needs of our children so that they leave our school not only
being able to calculate, read and write but as children ready and eager to
continue with their learning journey.
